is there a statute of limitations[time]on civil claim

i was served with papers for suit that is two years old i agreed to pay in couirt 1500 dollors that was all that they asked for on the papers there is no court clerk of court or case number also don't they have to do this in 1 yearthey now want 10000

If you agreed to pay $1500 2 years ago, and a Judgment was entered, there will probably be attorney's fees, court costs and interest added which could increase the total substantially.

You don't say how they are trying to collect, but you should be furnished with a copy of the Judgment at the least. If they didn't give you one, get one from the Clerk of Court in which the case is pending.
