Legal Question in Immigration Law in Colorado
Divorcing when on L2 visa
I am currently here in the United States on an L2 visa (connected to my husbands L1 visa) but I wish to divorce my husband and stay in the country. Do I have to change my visa? If so, do I have to change my visa before divorcing him? Or is there some sort of 'grace' period before having to do this?

Re: Divorcing when on L2 visa
In order to change to another status, you would have to be eligible for another status. Once you obtain a divorce, you would lose your L2 status by operation of law. I suggest that you see an immigration lawyer before you divorce.
