I helped sponsor my ex husband to get a green card and now I have IRS and police at my door because he became a predator and criminal, how do I withdraw my sponsorship and what papers I need to file?

If you are referring to being a co-sponsor for the Affidavit of Support, form I-864, you cannot withdraw your "sponsorship". The only way to be relieved of I-864 liability is by the beneficiary paying into U.S. social security for 40 qtrs, the beneficiary becoming a U.S. citizen, the beneficiary dying or the I-864 (co-)sponsor dying.

However, the only thing you are liable for, as an I-864 co-sponsor, is reimbursement to any government agency for a means-tested benefit that the beneficiary has obtained, You are not responsible for the beneficiary owing child support, spousal support, back taxes, etc.

So, the IRS & police should have nothing to do with the I-864 you filed. For IRS issues, please contact a Tax Attorney. For Law Enforcement issues, please contact a Criminal Defense Attorney.
