Legal Question in Immigration Law in Colorado
My husband is a naturalize citizen and is now applying for his mother's residence, but does not meet the 125% poverty line for the Affidavit of Support. Our 20 year old daughter would be helping him as a joint sponsor but she has only filed taxes for the last 2 years. The AOS form is asking for the last 3 years. By adding my daughter as a joint sponsor we would be $30 short from meeting the poverty line. Can he still use her as a joint sponsor? I the wife has always worked but now I am unemployed and is receiving unemployment can I be a joint sponsor or would it have to be someone with an actual job?

It would be best to meet with an immigration attorney with copies of all proof of income, tax returns and asset values for you, your husband and your daughter. They could then better evaluate and make recommendations.
