Legal Question in Immigration Law in Colorado
marrage/divorce
My sister in law is in the u.s. on a immigration visa and was served divorce papers from her spouse (u.s. citizen/military) should she persue financial assistance from her spouse via divorce or via the ''affidavit of support'' that was submitted along with the original visa paper work?

Re: marrage/divorce
The Affidavit of Support signed by the petitioner husband as part of the immigration process is not a way for the alien wife to obtain support on divorce. She needs to seek that in the divorce proceeding.
