Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Colorado
Person A transcribes court documents (wills, deeds, etc.) and then publishes them in a copyrighted book. Person A then copies and sells some pages from their book to person B. Can person B make 'transcriptions of the transcriptions' and share them without violating copyright law ?

It depends on what's called the "fair use" doctrine AND whether person B knew where the transcriptions came from originally. Consult with an intellectual property attorney in your area for specifics.
