Foreign Residency as a US citizen

What is the law regarding living in a foreign country as a resident and keeping investments and bank accounts with my investment firm in the US?

Not sure what you're getting at. If you you mean taxes, as a US citizen you have to pay taxes in the US on income derived here. The other country gets to tax you on your income derived there, and the IRS will make sure you pay up to the limit here if the tax rate in the other country is lower than here; they do that to make it less beneficial to live outside the US.
