Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Colorado

My landlords just took over the property last year, I had already signed a lease with the former owners, now it is time for a new lease and I have not been offered one, I don't want to move and I can not pay an increase of $540.00 a month. They have not returned my calls, I have always paid on time, apartment is neat and clean, how can they increase it so much? Is there any recourse for me to stay here?

Basically, no. It isn't your property. You had a deal that allowed you to stay in the property through the end of your lease. Once the lease is up, you need a new deal or you have to move. That is simply how renting other people's property works. You had no legal right to expect to stay in the property beyond your lease term.
