Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Colorado

I live in a 90 apartment high rise building. Must a tenant furnish a landlord with a copy of their renters' insurance policy? My landlord has requested a copy of mine. I do not know how they know I even have one. It's a mystery to me, but...they have requested this on the annual rent increase form. I am uncomfortable sharing my insurance policies with anyone. This does not appear to be a building-wide, standard request for all tenants. It seems to be unique to me.

Read your lease. It is common for landlords to require tenants to have renter's insurance. If it is not addressed in your lease (or in building rules that you agreed to follow) then you don't have to do it.
