Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Colorado
I am trying to obtain my security deposit from my previous landlord. More than 2 months have passed and I have sent her a 7 day demand letter both certified and first class mail. She has refused to accept the certified letter and I'm not sure what my next step should be? Can I go ahead and file the charges against her in small claims court? Please advise. Thank you so.

I would recommend that you contact an attorney first. If they have violated the security deposit statute rules and they do not give you your deposit they can be sued and are liable for attorney fees.
If you prefer to do this yourself, go the Colorado judicial branch website and they have many forms and guides to assist you. Good luck.
