Legal Question in Military Law in Colorado
early breaking of lease
If a person in the military signs a 2 year lease and then gets stationed some where else. Do I have to break the lease with no penalties or are they bound to the contract like anyone else would be?

Re: early breaking of lease
The Soldiers and Sailors Civil Relief Act provides an escape clause for military persons who are transferred.
Generally the local JAG office can supply a form letter to the landlord explaining the law, and that will frequently take care of the problem.
