Legal Question in Military Law in Colorado

I have recently recieved a good conduct medal and re-enlisted in the Army. My unit is trying to prefer charges for allegedly disrespect to a superior officer that happened over a year ago. Can they prefer such a minor charge from a previous contract?

Typically, charges which occurred during one enlistment cannot be tried by court-martial in a subsequent enlistment. The command may try to do this, or take the charges to an Article 15 or a chapter board so you need to be in contact with an attorney who is familiar with these rules.
