can a soldier be orderd to conduct military duties while on leave or pass?

Yes. Just because the soldier is allowed to be absent from his usual place of duty does not suddenly mean he's not a soldier any longer. Passes can be cancelled. Soldier on pass/leave should advise his change of command while carrying out any lawful orders received.
