Legal Question in Personal Injury in Colorado

compensation for injuries

While waiting for traffic to clear so I could make a left hand turn, I was rear ended by another vehicle traveling at approximately 35 mph. My vehicle was totaled, and the other driver received a citation for followng too closely. I suffered a concussion and have medical bills the other driver's insurance company has said they will pay. In addition, the insurance company has offered to provide me an unknown amount for pain and suffering.

Should I seek legal counsel to protect my rights?

Re: compensation for injuries

The answer is, absolutely. In fact, I suggest you speak to an attorney prior to any additional communication with any insurance companies. Most injury attorneys, including my office, are willing to handle cases such as yours on a contingency fee, which means that the attorneys fee is a percentage of your total recovery. No recovery means no attorneys fee.

An attorney may also be able to assist you in getting your medical bills paid by your own insurance company while you are seeking recovery from the other driver's insurance.

In any event, whether you contact this office or another one for assistance in your case, I strongly advise you to seek the services of an attorney as soon as possible. You did not provide the date of the accident, so I cannot tell you when your statute of limitations expires, but please understand that there is a time limit for asserting your claim and that failure to file suit within that time limit may bar your claim and prohibit your recovery. Please feel free to contact me via e-mail if you have additional questions.

Re: compensation for injuries

The answer is a definite yes because without representation you may not know whether or not the offer from the insurance company is fair. Alot will also depend on the seriousness and longevity of the damages incurred. You must realize that once you settle with an insurance company that you more so than not can not go back. Feel free to contact us if you need assistance
