Legal Question in Personal Injury in Colorado

I was involved in an auto accident that resulted in several surgeries and major medical expenses. I know that I can file claim against my insurance for the underinsured amount, but if the expenses exceed the policy limits of the liable party, can I make claim on my umbrella policy?

The best answer is probably not, but you will have to read the policy for a definate answer. Most umbrella policies only protect against your liability, not the liablitlites of others. If you would like, I'd be happy to talk with you more about finding all available insurance.

You should discuss your matter with an experienced Colorado attorney with extensive expereince in handling complex insurance claims. Frequently insurance companies will not be forthcoming unless a lawyer is representing a victim and the threat of a lawsuit is pending.
