Denied a verbal agreement

Due to my husbands job we move every 5-6 months. Made a verbal agreement with the landlord that we could get out of the 6mo lease early as long as we gave them plenty of notice and allowed them to show the property while we still lived there. Now they kept my deposit stating early termination of lease. What are verbal agreement laws?

Sorry, but unless you have independent witnesses to the verbal agreement, you are stuck.
