Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Colorado

Joint Property

My ex-boyfriend and I own 2 pieces of property (land with is tenants in common) and (condo in Panama). We each own 50% of each property. We are no longer together and I want to sell the properties. He does not. How can I liquidate these properties?

Re: Joint Property

Morning,

Your options are two: Either come to some resolution where he pays you an amount for your interest or you will need to file an action for partition.

The partition action would be for the Colorado property, as for Panama, you would need to talk to counsel there unless you have a tenancy in common agreement which provided that Colorado law and venue controlled that property and even then you may have issues.

Talk to a real estate attorney about this matter. Good luck.
