if landlord evicts you how long do you have and do you have to pay that month?

i received a 30 day notice to move out of a condo. My landlord is seperating from wife and wants to move in. my lease is up in march but i do not have a copy of lease. my rent is 615.00....300.00 deposit...when i found this out i asked him if i could pay him 300.00 to help me move and the other 300 would be my deposit...he said no...i stopped payment on the check but would be happy to send him 300.00....i think this is so unfair.what can he do? plz answer asap..thx

I am unsure of the facts here, namely if you already moved in and when. Bascially a lease is a contract between you and the landlord. If your lease expires in March then you can live there until March. However, if you break the lease, for instance don't pay rent then you can be evicted before hand.

If your landlord unlawfully breaks the lease he can be liabile for damages. You need a copy of the lease.
