Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Colorado
mechanics lien
we received a cert. ltr from an atty respresenting 2 contractors who provided work on a new house we just closed on 33 days ago. The national builder we bought from is in financial trouble already. The ltr is a ''notice of intent to file lien statement and notice extending time to file lien statement.'' Should I be worried or is this typical in this situation? Does Homeowners Insurance ever support in these situations. Thanks

Re: mechanics lien
You should be worried. They generally do have a right to a lien and may proceed to try to foreclose on that lien.
You may have various defenses to such rights. I have never heard of homeowners insurance being applicable to a lien matter. Contact an attorney and good luck.
