Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Colorado
Employee Rights?
i blew the whistle on a guy for sexual harrassment, made about a girl, and said to me other comments as well. he was suspended 24 hrs. the manager told me this man would not be there anymore. then the man was the one to tell me he would remain employed. the manager also said if anyone still had a problem or was uncomfortable with him, he would be gone. four people did. the man is still there. i was not allowed to transfer out (they said at a meeting if anyone wants to transfer, walk now). my manager knew i was still uncomfortable.
i was suspended last thursday for ''gossip'', during this past week. i sent a letter to my HR rep in Denver, my manager, and my district manager. they refused to contact my until yesterday, saying i had to come in today for a meeting from 1-2. i got fired. an hour after the meeting, a human resources person got a hold of me and said ''hey, whats going on?'', and said she did not know of the present circumstances, although my manager told me my suspension for gossip was going through her. her name was mentioned as one of the parties involved in firing me.
the company is Starbucks.

Re: Employee Rights?
Based on what you have written, you may have a good case. You need to document everything that you have said as much as possible. Make sure that you have contact information on all co-workers and others with information regarding these allegations. If you want me to do some research, I can, but we will soon need to set a fee agreement.
