Legal Question in Traffic Law in Colorado
I have a 15+ year old who got pulled over whine taking his friends home across the street without a drivers license(just a permit) Totally BAD choice/judgement and he is extremely remorseful. He got pulled over(apparently a neighbor called) and he got into BIG trouble. He has a 9 point ticket(3 points for him, and 2 for each of his friends/passengers that were in the car). THe officer explained that he could pay the fine, and lower the ticket by 2 points or go and explain the situation and obviously beg for forgiveness wit the DA on the court date, also we are going to have him take an Alive at 25 class to show his wanting to do anything to make things better. This "may" help to lower the points.
My question is, if the points drop down by several or more will his chances of getting his license on time be affected?
1 Answer from Attorneys
No matter what, he damaged his chances of getting a license.
Each point down will help.
