Legal Question in Traffic Law in Colorado

Careless Driving

My son received two speeding tickets within a short period of time. He went to court on the first one and talked to the DA. They reduced it from a reckless to a careless. He received 2 days in jail and a $600 fine. He has to appear for the 2nd one next week. It is for speeding 30mph over the posted speed limit. He is afraid he will have to go to jail again and was wondering if he should consult an attorney first or ask for a trial and then get an attorney. The two day he received is the first encounter he has had with incarceration and he is very afraid. Should he try to get another reduction?

Re: Careless Driving

Even traffic tickets can be successfully defended by a good attorney. Your son will likely get another 2 day jail sentence unless an attorney can find something your son cannot. I am willing to look. There is also effective mitigation presentation at sentencing that will minimize the likelihood of more jail. Call me or another attorney.
