Legal Question in Traffic Law in Colorado

I was charged with a careless driving ticket after running into a car parked on a residential street. I looked down at my phone for a second then when I looked up I had rear-ended a car. There were no witnesses and no one was hurt but I caused significant damage to the other car. Is there any chance I can get the charges reduced so it doesn't go on my record as a criminal offense?

There is always a chance. The likelihood depends on a number of facts including what jurisdiction the ticket is in, the mood of the DA, your record, and if you were insured.
