Intestate Estates

The Colorado Probate Code establishes a list of "heirs" who are the takers in the case of an intestate estate. Colorado's system is similiar to a Weeping Willow Tree in structure.

The first heir is the surviving spouse followed by children, then grandchildren etc. who are known as lineal descendants.

If none of these people survive, you continue down the list of categories of heirs. I suggest you consult with a Colorado attorney to obtain further information.
