Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Colorado

My brother passed away one year ago. He had a car that we worked on together a lot. He had signed the title over before he died, as he was gonna sell it because it wasnt working. When he passed i asked his ex-wife if i could have the car, i even offered her money. She said that i could and that i didn't need to pay for it. So i then went and put the title in my name. I have since then put about 2160.00 of parts into it, and labor for the work is around 2500.00. i do have recipts for the parts and labor estimites for the work. She wants the car back now that it is running. Do i have a leg to stand on or am i going to have to give the car back.

Your question doesn't indicate if your brother signed the title over to you prior to his death. That would be important.

Yes, you do have some rights. You should contact an attorney experienced in estate matters to get a more detailed description of your rights and options.
