Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Colorado

Death of POA/Sole Beneficiary

An individual is the sole beneficiary of his divorced parents; also, he is the Power of Attorney for each parent. In the event he dies before his parent(s) die, what can he do now to ensure that his elderly parents will be taken care of? He is single with no children, and there are no other friends or family members whom the parents can trust to be their POA.

Re: Death of POA/Sole Beneficiary

Your parents should make sure that their Powers of Attorney designate successor agents to you.

They should visit with a qualified estate planning attorney in their area to receive advice and legal assistance.
