Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Colorado
death without a will
My mother died and I was never notified of her death, until 3 years after the fact. I don't know if she had a will. What happens to her money and houses? She was married to my stepfather, does he get everything?

Re: death without a will
Her estate would be administered pursuant to her Will. Notice may have been provided properly.
You should visit with an experienced probate lawyer to determine your rights and options. However, you may be beyond any applicable claim periods and you should discuss this with the lawyer.
