Re: heirship

Your heirs are your brothers. Colorado's system of intestate succession is set forth in the Colorado Probate Code. If you are unmarried, have no children and your parents have already passed on, then your next heirs would be the children of your parents, therefore, your brothers.

If you have further questions, consult with an experienced estate lawyer.

Dear LawGuru User:

The heirs of the person you made reference to are his or her brothers.

However, even if the person wishes to have his or her property to go to the brothers, it is still best to have a Will, Powers of Attorney and a Living Will Declaration drawn up by an attorney.

Thank you for contacting LawGuru.

Sincerely,

Louise Aron
