Power of attorney

I had to place my mother in nursing home from a stroke. Nursing home wants me to sign a ''POWER OF ATTORNEY''. I need to know if I do sign this form am I responsible for any of her unpaid debits now and at the time of her death?

Nursing homes are notorious for slipping "guaranty" or "responsible party" language into their admission agreements, even though this practice violates federal law. You should take the time to review the contract with an Elder Law attorney to ensure that you are not obligating yourself personally for your mother's expenses.
