is there a time frame or ''statute of limitations'' in which a will must be submitted for probate?

Colorado law states that the person with possession of the will is to file it with the Court within 10 days after the death of the testator.

Yes. A will must be probated within 4 years of the death of the testator. However if the will devises real property, it can still be probated as a "muniment of title."

Typically, a will must be probated before the expiration of four years from the date of death. There is a potential exception for certain circumstances, but it's a long shot.
