Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Colorado
Questioning a will
What are the options in the event a man has outstanding debts to his first wife whom he abandoned with 3 children and paid no child support to for many many years. He since remarries and has children and then passes away. The first wife is trying to determine if she has any rights to monies from the estate. Is it too late since she found out very late he had died - he died 12/1 and it is now early March? Thank you for any suggestions you have.

Re: Questioning a will
You should immediately contact an attorney with trusts and estates experience. A Demand for Notice should be filed with the Court where the estate has been filed. If one has not been filed, then there are other procedures that can be pursued. If you wait too long, then your rights, if any, can be extinguished.
