Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Colorado

Reciprocal wills between states

My husband and I have a Will that was made in Texas. We now live in Colorado. Is this still a legal will in Colorado? Would it be probated in Texas or in Colorado?

Re: Reciprocal wills between states

Your Texas Will is valid in Colorado, assuming it is valid under Texas law. Your Will, no matter where created, is subject to probate (called estate administration in Colorado) in the State where you reside at death, and in any State where you own property.

If you need specific guidance, consult with an experienced trust and estate lawyer.
