Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Colorado

i am being sued by my brother over an estate issue. Where do I go from here. The Estate was a mess when my father died and my father only had 1500.00 when he died and my brother is suing me for a million dollars cause the loss of the homes who at the time my father died they were not in his name. He had turned the homes over to another guy who was building homes for him. My father wasn't worth a million dollars and so we have no money for a attorney my brother found this attorney who is working for nothing It's a big mess what do i do I have a problem trusting attorneys.
