Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Colorado

trustee of deceased property

My Sister just recently passed away and she has no family except her Mother and Father.I am her brother. My parents are frustrated because they have no idea how to legally go about the process of taking over her possesions so that they can take care of her bills, get information on her bank accounts and mortgage loans, etc.

Could you please help guide us in the right direction?

Thanks,

Paul

Re: trustee of deceased property

Your parents should go visit with an attorney in their county who is experienced handling estates. The attorney can assist them in getting appointed by the Court to handle your sister's finances and to settle her estate.

Re: trustee of deceased property

Since there are mortgage loans, I am assuming that your sister owned real estate. This will require a probate estate to be opened and administered. I would suggest contacting an attorney experienced in probate to help with this.
