Death Benefits
I would like to know what the Colorado law states as benefits for the survivors of employees who were killed as the result of an injury at work.

Re: Death Benefits
The general rule in Colorado is that a surviving spouse and dependent children receive 2/3 of an injured worker's average weekly wage. Payments to the surviving spouse terminate when he/she dies or remarries. Payments to dependent children terminate at age 18, or age 21 if enrolled full-time in school. Benefits are reduced for partial dependents. Obviously, it's impossible to give specifics on payments in an individual case without more information, but those are the general rules for cash payments. Also, WC pays funeral expenses up to $7,000.
