Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Connecticut
bankruptcy & credit reports
Because I was out of work for almost a yr and my Mom was very ill, I fell behind on my mortgage payments. The bank foreclosed on my house. In order to keep it, I filed bankruptcy but ended up selling the house which then the bankruptcy was dismissed. Why does this still effect my credit rating? Shouldn't there be something I could do to save myself?

Re: bankruptcy & credit reports
What type of bankruptcy did you file, Chapter 7 or 13? You probably filed a 13 to save the house, in which case, it is likely that even if you dispute the credit report, it will stay on. Contact me for more information.
