Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Connecticut
Bankruptcy - Pension, SS & Disability
Hello,
In the states of CT & NJ, I wanted to know when someone is still within their 7yr bankruptcy period and is now retired and on disability, can their pension, social security/disability wages be garnished if they stop making payments on debts (credit card, car pymts, cell phone, cable, etc?)
Thank you for your time.

Re: Bankruptcy - Pension, SS & Disability
In Connecticut (I don't know about New Jersey) social security, disability and pension payments are exempt from attachment by creditors.
