Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Connecticut
Chapter 7
If someone owes over 15,000 in credit cards can they file bankruptcy even if they filed over 6 yrs ago? And how much does it cost these days? I am asking for someone else because he is not comfortable doing the research himself

Re: Chapter 7
The law states that a chapter seven cannot be filed within eight years of the previous discharge date. So at 6 years he cannot file a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. A chapter 13 is still available or he has to wait two years. As for the cost, well that depends on many factors.
