Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Connecticut
Lawsuit after bankruptcy
My husband borrowed money from someone to try, unsuccessfully, to save his business. We filed bankruptcy shortly thereafter and included John in the bankruptcy. Apparently, the money my husband borrowed did not come from x, it actually came from someone else y. Now y is suing us. Our attorney said that it doesn't matter where the money came from, what matters is who my husband borrowed it from. Is he correct? (I want to believe it, but am afraid to.

Re: Lawsuit after bankruptcy
BElieve your lawyer.
Why would you trust an answer you get over the internet, from a total stranger, who knows nothing about the facts of your case, when you do not trust your own lawyer?
But for what it's worth, from the skimpy facts available to me, if sounds like your lawyer is right.
Good luck!
