Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Connecticut
Personal Bankruptcy
Want to file personal bankruptcy. Married. Quit claim filed to our home in May of 2007. Can the personal residence included as homestead value and/or exclusion or excluded completely as the title has my wife's name? Equity in the house exceeds my personal liabilities. Thanks

If the property was quit claimed more than 1 year ago, you may be able to exclude it from your bankruptcy case. Additional information would be required to say for certain. There are also many other things that would need to be considered, such as your and your wife's total income (evden if only you file) and whether you filed before. There is a lot of information on my website about bankruptcy. Please also fee free to call for a free initial consultation.
