Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Connecticut
Suit resolution by filing bankruptcy
Currently I'm in a lawsuit and the plantiff turned down
the settlement to clear the financial obligation. Would bankruptcy stop the suit or the threat of a bankruptcy curtail this ligation. Also if the plantiff continues would
a bankruptcy stop any judgement against me.

Yes, the bankruptcy would stop the lawsuit, or discharge a judgment, except for certain specific lawsuits, such as a claim of fraud, drunk driving, intentional torts, or child support. Without knowing the nature of the lawsuit, I cannot be more specific. But generally, it would be best to file a bankruptcy before the judgment. Good Luck.
