Legal Question in Business Law in Connecticut
The current dilemma I am facing is with my current employer and a company that want to hire me. The problem is that the company that wants to hire me, cannot due to a no hire covenant with my current employer. What I understand from the no hire agreement is that �the client also agrees not to solicit, or offer employment to any employee of the other� for a period of 2 years. By my interpretation of this sentence, if I willing to leave my current employer, I will no longer be an �employee�, and not subject to this agreement.

As a Franchise Attorney I can say this. You can't change your status in a way that violates the agreement and then claim you are no longer subject to the agreement. The entire agreement needs to be examined and analyzed. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
