Legal Question in Business Law in Connecticut

Can I donate portions of proceeds from my online store to multiple nonprofits?

I'm thinking of starting an online jewelry store where a portion of each item sold would go to a nonprofit. A person would be able to choose multiple nonprofits (from a list that I give) where that portion would go to. I would keep track of which nonprofits were chosen by each person from each sale. I would also keep track of the total amount that would go to each of them and send the total donations to each nonprofit monthly. Is this legally allowable? Do I have to get permission from the selected nonprofits to do this? Or is my only option to use something like Ebay's Giving Works?

Typically non-profits do not reject donations and there is no prohibition against a donation to a non-profit. If you are planning to promote the fact that you and/or the customer will be donating to a specific non-profit be mindful of how you use their name and marks which may be protected.
