Legal Question in Business Law in Connecticut
Non-disclosure signed but company sold twice
I signed a non-disclosure agreement with a company 10 years ago when I first started there. I have been out of the company for two years. The company has also been sold twice (after I left).
Is the non-disclosure still valid?

Questions like these can't be answered without more facts. It depends on the agreement, it depends on the company, it depends on the applicable law.
Re: Non-disclosure signed but company sold twice
Mr. MacLeod is correct. There are, however, some rules of thumb that are helpful. Most confidentiality clauses expire by their terms after a fixed period. Check the agreement. Further, once the information sought to be kept confidential is made public (by someone other than you), you are no longer bound. Finally, the clause can't be used by your former employer to prevent you from earning a living.
