Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Connecticut
Emergency Medical Treatment
As a recovered substance user I was in an auto accident that required immediate medical care and evaluation. Due to a notation in my medical file which I informed the medical clinic at an earlier date that I do not prefer treatment with strong narcotics, I was ordered to leave the clinic immediately because ''I was a drug addict'' Though I was in need of immediate medical treatment and serverly injured (Head and spinal Injuries) I was forced to leave the facility without any evaluation. I subsequently suffered permanant damage to my spinal cord and may be disabled permanantly du to the lack of prompt care.
