Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Connecticut
Police abuse and school abuse.
At our local high school random drug checks are done with drug sniffing dogs and police officers. They check everything from lockers to students cars in the parking lot. Recently a friend of mine had the dogs go off on his car, he was escorted outside to watch an examination of his car. As expected nothing was found. The people that inspected his car were the principle and house master. The police were no where to be found when the inspection was performed. Is that legal? Also, there dogs scratched his car in several spots all the way down to the primer on the car. They did not think anything of it, and brushed it off as if nothing was wrong. The scratches clearly look like they are from an animal, and originally there were muddy paw prints all over his car. What can be done about this. I am in college and no longer go to the high school but i feel outraged and it didn't even happen to me. I am trying to work with him and his parents to figure out what can be done and what actions should be taken. I appreciate any help that you can give me for him.
