Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Connecticut

Sexual Harrassment Nonprofit Volunteer

I am an actor for a non-profit community theater. Some of the men have repeatedly violated my privacy after I requested they allow me to change in private behind a partician. They barge in. When I expressed being upset by this, one of them resorted to abusive language, telling me he had been in theater for years and noone else had acted like this, and I had a ''f'ing'' over-rated view of my body, with my splotchy back, and it certainly does nothing for him. I got no support from the play's director or the theater owner who witnessed it. I am afraid if I complain they will not cast me again. I feel very upset and want to quit the play in the middle of the production. Do I have any rights?

Re: Sexual Harrassment Nonprofit Volunteer

You have the right to quit. You also have the right to spend thousands of dollars and untold time and aggravation suing these people, if you care to. Watch out for legal time limits.
