Legal Question in Consumer Law in Connecticut
If I am delinquent with a credit card company, at any point can they garnish my unemployment income and/or remove funds from my bank account? One such credit card company is claiming they can and will do this.

They can not garnish your income in any way without first filing a lawsuit against you, giving you notice of the lawsuit and allowing you the opportunity to respond under the court rules. They may be threatening to do so, but they can not do so without going through all of the proper "due process" procedures and requirements. Just make sure they have your current address so you get all the notices.
