Legal Question in Consumer Law in Connecticut
I live in Connecticut and I was promised a refund in writing 2 times by an owner of a dance studio where my daughter attended 1 class and then withdrew at 8am the next morning.
She was put in a class too advanced for her skills and that was the only evening available.
I paid the entire year up front. A refund was promised by e-mail on 2 separate occasions and 4 months later the owner says she doesn't have the money to pay me back because her husband lost her job. There is no written refund policy.
Shouldn't I be entitled to a refund less the one class attended?

I believe you are entitled to the refund, especially since there is no refund policy and she promised the refund in writing on two occasions.
You can sue her/the dance studio in small claims court up to $5000.00 plus the cost of filing the suit.
