Legal Question in Consumer Law in Connecticut
timeframe for construction contract
I signed a contract on 11/11/06 to have my driveway paved. No money was exchanged. The contractor said he would be back approx. 5 days later to start the job. He hasn't shown up to start the work and won't return my phone calls. How long am I contracted to him? Can he show up next spring and start the job? I would like to cancel the contract ASAP. Thanks

Need to review your written contract, but a properly worded letter from your attorney should resolve the situation.

It depends on the contract, (I would have to see it) but you should be ok if you send a letter to the contractor. Let me know if you want me to look at it.
